||Early Bird Programs Promote Positive Child Development
Our centers' programs have been developed to promote the educational, social, cultural, emotional and physical development of each child. The Early Bird concept is based on the knowledge that the young child has a natural curiosity. We encourage this curiosity by providing the stimulation of an educational atmosphere. Our teachers are professionally trained to understand your child and to provide programs having maximum impact on his or her personal needs and ultimate potential. By highlighting your child's own interests, fun and learning become inseparable!
To encourage social development, we provide opportunities for sharing, taking turns, making friends, resolving conflicts, solving problems, and cooperating on projects to help children learn how to be happy and productive group members.
By recognizing the impact culture plays on families, we make every effort to provide culturally responsive child care by teaching children about their own cultures and introducing them to other cultures as well. Providing children with a positive experience while they explore similarities and differences encourages them not only to respect other cultures but increases their ability to talk and to play with peers who they think are different from themselves.
We encourage emotional development through verbal expressions of thoughts and feelings, experiencing rules and limits, as well as recognizing and accepting emotions in others. When we give children a sense of belonging and a knowledge of what to expect, they are encouraged to "spread their wings" and try other things.
With the advantage of a rural setting, Early Bird Centers can offer beautiful country spaces for play. Large motor skills are developed on our safe surface playgrounds which provide swings, climbers, sand, and slides for the outdoor physical and recreational needs of our students. Indoor games, in addition to the use of manipulative toys, blocks, puzzles and other small tools and objects, help to facilitate the development of small motor skills.
